A broken cable is also a very common problem with a garage door. It can cause the door to come crashing down. It can also cause the door to jack to one side making it possible for the door to fall out. It is recommended that you change these out anytime that you change out the spring.

Broken Hinge

A broken hinge is also a common problem that happens with old garage doors. When these tend to break, they don't allow the door to move properly up and down. The door will probably be making some kind of a noise and there is a chance that if 1 or more of them are broke, that the section could fall down.

Bad Roller

Bad rollers are a problem if there hasn't been any preventive maintenance done on the door like greasing the rollers and making sure that the track the rollers are in are free of trash. When you have a bad roller, the door has a hard time going up and it makes a lot of noise.
